How Would a Timeline Work in the Graphical User Interface of the MBH Database?

A pictorial timeline of human history would give the "big picture" so that the user could zoom-in to the details. Some examples of such pictorial timelines already created are Andreas Nothiger's World History Chart, John B. Sparks' Time Chart of World History, and Timeline of World History by Useful Charts. The four timelines used in MBHdb are now available to see as PDF documents: periods_BC, periods_0_1492, periods_1492_1844, and periods_global.

Hyperlinks within the picture of world history (the Timeline) will take the user to a description of the period and any Events or Movies associated with that period of history.
